About NCERT BOOKS

             The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous body of the Government of India. It was established in 1961 as a literary, scientific and charitable Society under the Societies’ Registration Act (Act XXI of 1860). The headquarter of National Council of Educational Research and Training  is located at Sri Aurbindo Marg in New Delhi. Since September 2015, Dr. Hrushikesh Senapaty is the director of the National Council of Educational Research and Training. National Council of Educational Research and Training assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programs for qualitative education to the school children in India. The primary objectives of NCERT are to undertake, promote and coordinate research in areas related to school education; prepare and publish model textbooks, supplementary material, newsletters, journals and develops educational kits, multimedia digital materials, etc. It also organizes pre-service and in-service training of teachers; develop and disseminate innovative educational techniques and practices; collaborate and network with state educational departments, universities, NGOs and other educational institutions. NCERT acts as a clearinghouse for ideas and information in matters related to school education, and act as a nodal agency for achieving the goals of Universalism of Elementary Education.
